A scraper, enrichment pipeline, and CRM built around the California State License Board — surfacing contractor leads, license status changes, and outreach signals in one place.

Every licensed contractor in California is a public record. The data is there — license status, classifications, expirations, bonds, addresses, officers — but it's locked behind a clunky search box, paginated one record at a time, and useless for anyone trying to actually work the leads at scale.

License Radar is the layer on top. A Python pipeline pulls the full CSLB database, enriches each record with the signals that actually matter for outreach — license type, expiration windows, recent status changes, geography — and pushes everything into a CRM I can work out of every day. New leads, lapsing licenses, fresh issuances, all surfaced automatically instead of hunted manually.

Right now it's a private tool. I built it for myself because the GC and trade ecosystem is the same world PunchVault lives in, and warm, well-targeted outreach beats anything else I've tried. It doubles as a research engine for understanding the market — who's active, where, in which trade, and how that's shifting.

It's live and running. I'm still researching what to do with it longer-term — keep it private, license it to a few people who'd pay real money for the same edge, or productize it for a specific niche. For now I'm letting the tool earn its keep before making that call.

If you'd find this useful and want a version of it for your own outreach, reach out. I'm willing to license access for a price to the right people.
