Places. Notes.
Where I've been and what stayed with me. Short entries, real moments, no travel-blog filler.
The feeling wasn't that I was visiting.
It was that I was supposed to be there.

Five places at the top of my list. Not necessarily next — some are hard to get into right now. All on the list for real reasons.
A cross-section of everything that matters. Mediterranean and snow in the same day, Arabic culture carried by some of the warmest people on earth, Islam and Christianity sharing the same streets, architecture I want to stand inside of, and food I think is among the best in the world.
The oldest Christian country in the world, the largest Jesus statue being built right now, underrated food, generous wine, and mountains that look unreal in photos. A corner of the world most travel lists skip entirely.
The news makes it one thing; history makes it another. I'm a history nerd, and the Persian Empire is my favorite chapter of it. A true crossroads of civilizations — I want to see it with my own eyes before anything about it makes the decision for me.
The foundation of humanity as we know it. Sites I've read about in the Bible since I was a kid, food that predates most culinary traditions, and people who have endured more than I can begin to describe and still extend hospitality to strangers.
Similar to Iran. The headlines flatten a country that has more to it than the last twenty years of news cycles. There are real issues I don't pretend to agree with, but I want to meet the people who've been reduced to a caption.
I'll build you one of your own.
